Hey folks! I just bought a prebuilt gaming PC and I've only had it for a day, but I'm already running into issues. I'm new to this since I've always been a console gamer. My PC keeps crashing while I'm playing games. I tried playing Squad and it crashed a few times, and even smaller games like Forewarned have caused crashes too. I've made sure my DisplayPort is connected to the graphics card, updated the NVIDIA drivers, and confirmed Windows is fully updated.
What happens is the game freezes, then I can't move my mouse or hear anything for about 10 seconds. After that, the screen turns black, and the PC restarts without any error message afterward.
I've read about BIOS but I don't feel confident enough to mess with that yet. I could really use some advice.
I thought this rig would handle the games no problem. I even lowered the graphics settings just in case. Here are my specs:
- GeForce RTX 5070
- AMD Ryzen 5 7500X3D
- Kingston Fury Beast 2x8GB 5600MHz
- Good cooling system from Cooler Master
- Asus B650E motherboard

If your PSU is strong enough, it can handle two PCs similar to yours with some extra power left over. But how does it handle power? When it freezes, your NVIDIA overlay should show temperatures, right? What are those like when it crashes?
Do you see any error messages on a blue screen? That can help figure out the problem.
No blue screen, it just shuts down and restarts.

The temps are usually between 45°C-60°C when it freezes, so I don’t think it’s overheating.
