Hey everyone! I'm looking for some advice on setting up TV screens around the office for company notifications like slideshows. Currently, our corporate office is using Brightsign xd235s for media control, but I've hit a couple of snags. First, at around £500 each, it feels like a lot for what we're using them for. Second, we can't upload new slides unless we access a PC on the same subnet that has the Brightsign app. Maybe we're missing something, but I'd love to hear your thoughts or recommendations for other options. Thanks!

I recommend looking into Samsung's SMART signage solutions! They’re quite user-friendly, and we've had great success with the QMC-series screens. Uploading new content is simple and they’re reasonably priced. That could really save you the hassle!
Have you thought about using Raspberry Pis? You can often connect the older models directly to the TV via USB, plus there are digital signage solutions out there like PiSignage that could work for you. Some of those options might even be free or open-source!
Yeah, Brightsign devices are rugged but £500 is definitely overkill just for slideshows. You might be better off going for something like a Raspberry Pi or a Chromecast paired with a cloud service like Yodeck or ScreenCloud. Then you can manage everything from anywhere without the subnet limitation. Much more flexible!
My school uses Vivi, which might be a bit more than what you need, but it's great for announcements and projections. Just thought I'd share in case you're looking for a solid all-in-one solution!
I've been working on an Android-based signage player because, honestly, Brightsign seems excessive for simple notifications. You can use a $50 Chromecast or Android TV stick, and since it's cloud-based, you won’t have to worry about subnet issues. If you're interested, I’d love to share my workflow and hear your feedback!

I'm curious about your signage solution too! Let’s connect.
