What Should I Do After Completing an Express.js Crash Course?

I've been learning web development for a bit now, and I just finished Brad Traversy's Express Crash Course. I went through everything step by step and felt like I understood it well. I'm really eager to find a junior developer job soon, but I'm unsure about what level I should be at to feel 'job-ready' or what my next steps should be to reach that goal. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

It's great that you've finished the crash course! Just keep in mind that one course alone doesn't make you job-ready. You're in a good spot to start transitioning from just learning the syntax to actually building projects. That's where you'll really learn the ropes.

The job market can be really tricky, depending on where you are. Some areas have tons of tech opportunities, while others might be lacking. I’ve got decades of experience and even I’ve faced rejections for silly reasons. It might help to leverage your people skills during interviews or connect with local companies directly to see if you can fill any immediate needs, even if it’s just to get your foot in the door.

Junior job postings are way down—about 60%! To stand out, you should have a few projects that showcase your skills. Consider contributing to open-source projects on GitHub; not only does it help you learn more, but it also beefs up your portfolio. Things are tough out there, but keep pushing through!
