Is On-Board Bluetooth Really That Bad?

I've been using on-board Bluetooth on a few ASUS motherboards with different Xbox controllers over the years, but I constantly run into the same issue: the controller drops connection after about 5 minutes. It's getting frustrating! I've found that using an Xbox dongle or even a cheap Bluetooth dongle solves the problem for me, but I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong. Has anyone else had good experiences with on-board Bluetooth, or is this a common issue?

I think it's more common to have issues with on-board Bluetooth. I personally just plug in my Xbox controller via USB—it's a lot more reliable that way!

Have you made sure to connect your Bluetooth antennas properly? That can really make a difference in connectivity!

I did connect the antennas, but thanks for the suggestion!

I've had my own challenges with Bluetooth. Sometimes, Windows updates can mess with your drivers. Double-check that you've got the right ones installed!

I did install them correctly from the website.

It really depends on your specific devices. I’ve had great luck with Bluetooth across various devices. Maybe the ASUS antennas aren't as good? My headphones connect perfectly even from another room!

It sounds like you might be dealing with some user or environmental issues because having three faulty motherboards is pretty unlikely. Have you installed all the latest drivers from the ASUS site? That's usually a crucial step!

Yeah, I got the drivers from their official website.
