Why Are My Download Speeds Dropping When Using WiFi?

I'm having a frustrating issue with my download speeds. While my WiFi is showing around 200 Mbps for download and 80 Mbps for upload during speed tests, when I try to download a game from Steam, the speed drops dramatically to about 800 kbps. This fluctuation in speed also messes with the estimated finish time, making it hard to know when the download will be complete. Any ideas on what might be causing this problem?

It sounds like you're experiencing congestion on your network. Have you checked if other devices are using the WiFi heavily while you're trying to download? Additionally, consider switching to a 5 GHz WiFi network if you haven't already; it usually offers faster speeds compared to the standard 2.4 GHz.

Don't worry, it's common for speeds to dip if your router isn't set up ideally. I had the same issue until I changed my access point to 5 GHz. It's made a huge difference for my downloads. You might want to give that a try!
