Is It Possible to Use a PCIe WiFi Card Externally with USB 4?

I'm looking for a way to attach a PCIe WiFi card externally through USB 4. Most WiFi cards are designed for internal use, but since USB 4 can support PCIe, I thought there might be a way to connect them externally. I'm having trouble finding any devices that can do this. Am I searching incorrectly, or are there any adapters available?

You might want to investigate the M.2 standard closely. Many WiFi cards use PCIe, so the eGPU dock could theoretically work. However, replacing the WiFi card in a laptop can be an easy task on some models if you prefer going that route instead.

You could look into an eGPU dock. It's a more expensive route, but it should work for connecting a PCIe card externally. Just keep in mind that an eGPU dock might be overkill if all you need is a WiFi connection.

Yeah, I get that eGPU docks are usually meant for full-size PCIe cards. WiFi cards are typically in M.2 format, so I'm not sure how that would translate. Plus, it seems like there aren’t many options for external M.2 adapters.
