I just bought a Kingston Data Traveler Exodia 128GB pen drive, which claims to support USB 3.2. After connecting it to a USB 3.2 port, I'm seeing a writing speed of only about 5 MB/s, which is really disappointing. I've looked around and found advice suggesting that transferring fewer large files might help, but even then, the speed hasn't improved. After doing some research, I came across a lot of complaints from others experiencing similar issues with these drives. Honestly, it's frustrating, and I'm starting to wonder if I got scammed. I thought a basic pen drive in 2026 wouldn't require extensive research before buying. I purchased it in a physical store, but I'm not happy with it at all. Can anyone prove me wrong and provide tips on how to enhance the speed?

You might want to check where you're copying files from. The transfer speed is limited by the slowest component in the chain. Try copying a file from the pen drive to itself; that way, you can see if it’s a drive issue or something else.

I'm copying from my HDD, and I'll try that test soon. Thanks for the tip!
