I recently upgraded from a 5070 to a 5080 because I found a fantastic deal. My power supply unit is a Montech Century 2 850W Gold, and it's compatible with 3.1/5.1 standards. However, I noticed that the 12V-2x6 cable says it only supports 450W instead of the 600W I expected. Should I upgrade my PSU, or can I stick with this one for my new graphics card?

You’re completely fine! Even if you push the 5080 to its limits, it won't exceed 450W. Just watch out when considering a future upgrade to a 5090; that one will require a stronger PSU, like a 1200W!
Your 850W Gold PSU is definitely sufficient for the 5080. Remember, the 450W limit on the cables refers to the individual cable and not the total power needed by the card, so you're fine! No need for an upgrade.
You're all set! The 5080 has a thermal design power (TDP) of 360W, and it also pulls a maximum of 75W from the PCIe slot, so your PSU should handle it without a hitch. Some might have a different opinion, but honestly, you shouldn't have any issues.
Yeah, the 5080's 360W requirement means your 850W PSU is more than enough. That's the recommended wattage overall, so you should be good without any upgrades needed.

Exactly! The 5080 drawing less than 450W means your current setup is fine. Modern GPUs are also very efficient with how they draw power from the PCIe slot.
