I'm trying to decide whether to upgrade my graphics card to a GTX 5080 gaming trio or go for a CPU upgrade to the Ryzen 7 7800X3D. Currently, I have a Ryzen 7 5700X, and if I switch to the 7800X3D, I'll also need to get a new motherboard and RAM for AM5 compatibility. Given these options, what should I prioritize: upgrading my GPU or my CPU?

I have the 9070XT, and I've noticed that the GTX 5080 is only about 15% faster for nearly double the price in most cases. If budget is a concern, I’d say stick with the 9070XT. But if you really want top performance and have the money, the 5080 or even the 5090 could be worth a look, just be aware of the diminishing returns.
I recently upgraded my GPU from an RX 6700XT to an RX 7800XT because my old GPU failed. It felt great at first, but then I started noticing a bottleneck with my CPU, which is an i5 9600K. Eventually, I had to upgrade to AM5 as well. So, if you have a decent CPU already, maybe consider that first so you don’t run into similar issues later!
I’d go for the 9070XT. It’s a solid card, and you can always upgrade to AM6 later on.
