Should I Upgrade My Old PSU or Use Wireview 2 for My 5090?

I've got an older power supply (PSU) that's about 15 years old, but it used to be highly rated back in the day. You can check out the review here: https://www.techpowerup.com/review/ocz-zx-1250w/3.html. It's been reliable for me, even when I had a three-way SLI setup. Currently, I'm running a 4090 with a 5700X3D. Some folks are telling me I should probably buy a new PSU, but I'm considering the Thermal Grizzly Wireview 2. It seems like it might be a safer option than replacing my PSU. Both options cost around $200. Do you think the Wireview will be sufficient to prevent any potential problems?

Honestly, I'd recommend just getting a new PSU that has a native 12VHPWR connector. Newer PSUs handle power transients better, give more stable power, and can maintain droop for longer periods. If you're looking for stability and minimizing any risks, a new PSU is the best bet.

I wouldn’t risk a 5090 with a 15-year-old PSU. I saw a PC Builder video suggesting that PSUs should typically be replaced around the 6-year mark (you can check it out around 17:22). The 5090 draws a ton of power. I’d definitely want a more current PSU that's designed for modern systems.

That makes sense, but I thought the Wireview could show real-time issues and protect the 5090 better than a new PSU without it.
