Why does my PC randomly shut off while gaming?

I recently upgraded my PC from an R5 3600 and RX 6600 XT to an R7 5800X and RX 6800 XT, and now I'm facing an issue where my PC randomly shuts off when I'm gaming. I have a Thermaltake Smart BX1 650W 80+ Bronze power supply. I've heard that 650W should be enough to support my new CPU and GPU, but I'm starting to doubt that. Additionally, my temperatures seem fine, usually ranging between 65-75°C. What could be causing this shutdown issue?

I can relate to that! My PC did something similar before I realized my power supply couldn't keep up with my setup. Have you tried monitoring your power draw when gaming? It could give you an idea if the 650W is really sufficient for your current hardware. Also, check if your PSU has any issues like flickering lights or strange noises.

Sounds frustrating! If the shutdown requires you to toggle the switch on the PSU to turn it back on, it might really be an issue with insufficient power or even a failing PSU. If you haven't already, consider testing with a higher wattage unit just to rule that out completely.

To figure out what's going on, a good starting point is to understand the type of shutdown you're experiencing. If your PC shuts off with just a black screen, it may indicate that your PSU isn't handling the power spikes well, especially with your upgraded components.
