I'm facing an issue with my ASUS ROG G17 laptop that recently went out of warranty. Here's the rundown:
- **Model**: ASUS ROG Strix 17 (2023)
- **CPU**: AMD Ryzen 9 7845HX
- **GPU**: RTX 40-series
- **OS**: Windows 11
The problem occurs during intense gaming sessions—specifically while playing games like WoW and World of Warships. My laptop experiences sudden, hard reboots without a blue screen; it just goes black and restarts itself. Interestingly, it hasn't rebooted during stress tests using OCCT.
After a hard reset, I found the following in my logs:
- Event Viewer: Kernel-Power 41 (63)
- BugcheckCode: 0 (suggesting a hardware-level power cut).
Here's what I've tried so far to troubleshoot:
1. Noticed my CPU reaches about 95°C and the GPU about 87°C shortly after starting the OCCT stress test.
2. I repasted the thermal compound initially with Arctic MX-4, but the reboots continued.
3. Then did a complete thermal overhaul, replacing MX-4 with Honeywell PTM7950 and also using K5 PRO Thermal Putty on all critical components.
4. Cleaned the fans and heatsinks thoroughly.
5. Even attempted undervolting the CPU and adjusting fan settings based on temperatures.
6. A local repairman looked at it but returned it with no significant changes, leaving me with no clear direction.
Now I'm really at a loss. If anyone has experienced something like this or has suggestions, I'd greatly appreciate your help!

It sounds like you've already done a lot of good troubleshooting! Random restarts can be frustrating, especially if you haven’t gotten any BSODs. You might want to check if the restarts happen without the battery—just using wall power. Sometimes, power issues can cause unexpected shutdowns, so that could help narrow things down.

Hum I didn't test that. I'll do it and answer you. Thanks.
