I'm looking for recommendations on the best screen capture and video editing applications available for Linux. Previously, I used Nvidia's video capture on Windows, which worked great for capturing my gameplay. What tools do you all use for screen recording in Linux, especially for capturing gameplay from Steam games?

OBS is solid and runs really smoothly on Linux, making it great for screen capture, especially for gaming.
I echo what others have said: OBS and DaVinci Resolve are both excellent choices for capturing and editing.
Definitely check out OBS; it's popular for a reason and works well on both Linux and Windows. For video editing, DaVinci Resolve is awesome, but installing it on Linux can be tricky—just a heads up on that!
If you’re looking for a solid editor, give Kdenlive a shot. It’s tailored for Linux and, once you get the hang of it, you'll find it really powerful for editing. I've been learning it and enjoying the process!
I just installed Kdenlive based on your recommendation. It looks promising! Thanks for the tip!

I've heard installing DaVinci can be a hassle. I'm curious about what issues you faced while setting it up!
