I'm really struggling to install Linux on my desktop and would appreciate any help. My setup includes an AMD processor, an ASUS motherboard, and an NVIDIA 1650 graphics card. I have experience with Linux on my old MacBook Air (running Fedora) and my Surface Book 2 (with Linux Mint), so I was excited to try a gaming-friendly distro, Nobara. The installation went fine, but while configuring it, I had trouble getting some games to run because I installed a bunch of Proton versions that didn't help. After a shutdown, my system wouldn't boot again, stuck on a loading screen, prompting me to attempt a reinstallation. However, Nobara wouldn't install at all. I got various messages during installation like 'Waiting for 2 module(s)' and after what felt like ages, it would allow me to progress, but I'd eventually encounter boot issues when trying to use Ext4 as the file system. I also tried Linux Mint, but that just led to a 'Timed out waiting for the udev queue being empty' error. A subsequent attempt with Fedora also left me hanging with messages and long load times. I've used different tools to create my install USBs, including the Fedora Media Creation Tool and Etcher, but nothing seems to be working. It's been a long, frustrating weekend, and any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Have you looked into running hardware diagnostics? If you can, boot back into Windows and use something like PC Doctor to check your system. Also, reseating your RAM could help. And if your motherboard has integrated graphics, try installing without the GPU to see if that changes anything.
Sounds like you might have a hardware issue on your hands. It could be a faulty USB stick, RAM, or even something wrong with the CPU. If you've already tried multiple USBs, maybe it's worth checking your RAM or trying a different installation method.

I did try it with two different USB sticks, so that might not be the issue. Any other suggestions?
