I'm upgrading my PC for the first time and I'm a bit anxious about messing things up. I've just finished taking everything apart, and wow, that was a challenge! I don't think I'm going back to pre-built machines or using non-modular power supplies again. I'm working with a Gigabyte 9070XT OC ICE GPU and an MSI MAG A850G PCIE5 power supply. My question is about the wiring: I'm unsure of what cables to use for my GPU. My previous GPU, a 4060, only needed one cable to connect. Now, do I connect two of the braided PCIe cables from the 12v 2x6 port on my PSU and then also connect one from the regular PCIe cables? Should I just use two normal PCIe cables and skip the braided ones altogether? I'm looking for some guidance before I accidentally cause a disaster! I've searched online, but the information I've found is often unclear. Thanks for any help!

Yeah, definitely go with those two braided PCIe cables from the PSU. You’ll want to ensure you’re using two separate cables to power your GPU for stability. As for which ones to plug in first, it doesn't matter! Just make sure they’re securely connected and you’re good to go!
It really doesn’t matter which cables you choose to use, as long as they fit properly into your GPU—they should have the correct 8 pin PCIe connectors. Just remember to use at least two separate cables to avoid any power issues. The connectors are designed to only fit one way, so you’ll be fine!
Awesome, that clears things up! Thanks for breaking it down for me. Hope you have a great day!

Thanks for the advice! Is there a specific order to plug these in, or can I arrange them for better cable management? Appreciate the quick response!
