Hey everyone, I recently switched to Zorin OS, and while I've expected a learning curve with Linux, I didn't realize how challenging it would be to get Windows games to run smoothly. I've been trying to use Lutris and Bottles, but it feels like an uphill battle. I've had to restart my machine countless times just to get things to work (or not work).
I managed to get Fargus launcher up and running, which is a bit promising, but there are issues. For non-Steam games, they open in the same window, which is fine but could be better if they had separate taskbar entries. However, my main concern is with Doom Eternal on Steam—it simply doesn't work. The constant hangs mean I'm rebooting far too often, and I'm unsure why everything's lagging on my RTX 4060M.
Additionally, I'm curious about using the latest version of Nvidia DLSS and how to adjust resolutions like in Special K.
If anyone has advice or tips, I'd really appreciate it! My specs are an i5 CPU with an RTX 4060 on a Lenovo Loq. Thanks!

Have you checked out protondb.com? It’s a resource that lists how well games run on Linux and provides tweaks from other users to improve performance. I haven’t tried Lutris or Bottles much, but this site might help you troubleshoot your game issues.
It sounds like Lutris and Bottles can be frustrating. Have you thought about trying another Linux distro? I know it’s not always the first choice, but options like Fedora, Mint, or Garuda are known to cater better to gamers right out of the box. Your hardware might also not have complete support on Zorin, which could be causing the troubles you’re experiencing.

Yeah, switching to a gaming-focused distro could really help. I've heard good things about options like Nobara and PikaOS for gaming setups!
