Hey everyone! I'm planning to upgrade my GPU from the 1080 Ti and finally step into the world of ray tracing! My budget is around $400, and I'm curious if the RX 9060 XT will work safely with my current setup. I have an Intel Core i5-8600K 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor on an Asus Prim Z370-A motherboard, along with 32GB of Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-2400 memory and an EVGA 650 Gold PSU. I initially looked at the RTX 5060 but heard it might bottleneck with my CPU, which I'm trying to avoid. I'll be gaming at 1440p on both modern and older AAA titles like Cyberpunk, Hogwarts Legacy, RDR2, and Resident Evil. Any thoughts?

Your CPU is getting a bit old now, so while the RX 9060 XT will work fine, it won't perform at its best due to the i5-8600K. It's not going to damage anything; you’ll just see slower performance compared to using a newer CPU. Once you eventually upgrade the rest of your setup, the RX 9060 XT will really shine!
I’m in the same boat about upgrading my CPU eventually, but I was hoping to get by with just the GPU upgrade for now. Thanks for confirming what I suspected!
Just a heads up—while the RX 9060 XT will work with your i5-8600K, consider planning for a CPU upgrade down the line to maximize your new GPU’s potential!
Consider upgrading to faster RAM. Instead of using 4 x 8GB sticks at 2400 speed, opt for 2 sticks with higher speeds. This could help improve performance overall!
Keep in mind that the i5-8600K maxes out at 2666 MHz. While RAM speed helps a bit, it won’t significantly hold back your setup.
I checked a bottleneck calculator, and it seemed to indicate no major issues at 2560 x 1440 with your setup. But remember, those calculators can sometimes be misleading, so don’t solely rely on them!
Yeah, I’ve heard a lot of people say bottleneck calculators aren’t exactly reliable. Still, it’s good to know it doesn’t flag major issues.

So, I just want to know, if I get this card, will I still enjoy a decent upgrade? I’m not too worried about FPS—I just want to hit that 60fps mark with beautiful graphics. Will this setup work for that?
