My younger brother is incredibly smart and creative, and he has a dream of creating a FNAF fan game. He's come up with a storyline and everything! I want to support him in this journey, but I know he might not be able to create a full-fledged game just yet. What's a good starting point for him? Are there any programming languages or game development skills that are easy enough for a kid his age to learn so he can work on his projects without getting discouraged? He's quite bright and I think he can handle something a little more advanced, too.

You might want to check out Scratch! It's a great platform for beginners where he can create simple games using blocks instead of writing out code. It's really user-friendly and fun for kids!
You should also look at GDquest for Godot. They provide a lot of free resources. Godot is a bit more advanced, but if he’s keen, it could be a great fit for him once he gets to grips with the basics!
Don't underestimate him! The original FNAF game was developed using an engine that uses checkboxes instead of traditional coding. It’s definitely possible for him to create something cool!
Honestly, if he's passionate about it, just push him towards some game dev tutorials online. When I was his age, I got my start by modifying Minecraft. There are tons of engines now that offer no-code solutions, which could really help him get the hang of things without feeling overwhelmed.
Thanks for the tip! I’ll definitely check out GDquest and Godot with him!
