Should I Attend a Hackathon Even If I’m a Beginner in Coding?

I'm currently in my second year studying Computer Science and I've been thinking about attending hackathons to work on cool projects and enhance my resume. However, I'm concerned because my coding skills are still pretty basic. I can just about create a functioning Pac-Man game, but I struggle with even refining the player's movement. Given my current skill level, should I still participate in a hackathon or wait until I'm more proficient in coding?

Yes, I second that! The best way to improve is to dive in. Don't worry about being the best coder; most people attending will be at various skill levels. You'll find that just by trying, you'll surprise yourself with what you can accomplish.

Definitely attend. It's all about learning and collaborating. You'll get to see different approaches to coding and project development, which will help you sharpen your skills. Plus, even small contributions like bug fixes or UI tweaks can add up and be meaningful.

Absolutely go for it! Hackathons are perfect for learning and stepping out of your comfort zone. Even if you're not super confident in your coding abilities, you'll gain invaluable experience just by being there.

You should absolutely go! Hackathons are mostly about learning and teamwork, not just winning. You'll probably learn more in one weekend than you would coding solo for weeks. It's a great way to network and figure out where you want to improve.
