I'm looking for some advice on whether I should invest in a new gaming PC or just upgrade my existing setup. I'm currently experiencing frequent blue screen crashes while gaming, particularly in Age of Empires 4 and Valorant. Here's a breakdown of my current specs:
- **CPU:** AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
- **CPU Cooler:** Corsair H100i liquid cooler
- **Case:** Cooler Master (not sure of the model, but the power button is broken)
- **Motherboard:** MAG 570x Tomahawk WiFi
- **GPU:** AMD 6700XT
- **PSU:** 750W
- **RAM:** 2x 16GB Corsair Vengeance 3200 DDR4 + 2x 8GB Corsair Vengeance 3200 DDR4
- **Storage:** 2x 1TB Samsung M.2 (there might be issues with these)
- **Monitor:** 27" 1440p 140HZ
I assembled this rig during lockdown, but due to the crashing issues, I'm considering a completely new setup. I'm not particularly tech-savvy; I mainly use the PC for gaming and light business tasks involving spreadsheets. Ideally, I want to keep my budget under £2500, and I'm leaning towards switching to Intel and Nvidia, as I've had enough of AMD. What would you recommend?

Before jumping into a new build, it might be worth diagnosing the crashes first. Your current spec should be good enough for the games you’re playing. Check if your SSDs are failing, especially since you mentioned issues with them. If your system was stable and just started crashing, it could be a simple fix without needing a new PC.
I’d lean towards resolving the blue screen issues first. A lot of times, it could be related to the SSDs or even some power delivery problems. If you resolve those, you could just upgrade your GPU rather than buying a whole new setup. Keep an eye on the RAM configuration, since mixing different sizes can sometimes cause issues.

Yeah, I was thinking of that too. I tried swapping RAM sticks, but I’m not sure if it helped. I might just need to replace those SSDs.
