Hey everyone! I'm looking to upgrade my aging PC, which is about 9 years old. I recently updated my graphics card to a Radeon RX 6700 XT, but I feel like my Intel i5 7600K processor is holding me back. I'm considering using some of my existing parts while upgrading others. Here's a summary of what I'm thinking of retaining and what I'd like to change:
- **Current GPU**: Radeon RX 6700 XT (12GB)
- **New CPU**: AMD Ryzen 5 9600X
- **New CPU Cooler**: Corsair NAUTILUS 360 RS
- **New Motherboard**: Asus B850 MAX GAMING WIFI
- **New RAM**: Corsair Vengeance RGB (16GB DDR5)
- **New Storage**: Samsung 990 Pro (2TB NVME SSD)
- **New Power Supply**: MSI MAG A850GL (850W)
I have a few questions:
1. Will upgrading the CPU, motherboard, RAM, etc., provide a significant performance boost if I keep my current GPU, or should I look into a new GPU as well?
2. Does the motherboard have built-in WiFi?
3. Can I transfer my existing HDDs/SSDs to the new build without losing data? Thanks for any help you can provide!

Your build looks good, but I think you could optimize it more. For example, switching out the cooler for a more budget-friendly one might save money, and getting a slightly cheaper SSD that performs well would help too. Double checking RAM options could also get you 32GB for a price that's not too high. Definitely weigh the suggestions from the others here!
Since you're based in Canada, consider checking out local sites like Memory Express for some great bundle deals. They usually have the best performance-to-cost options right now. You could upgrade your CPU, RAM, motherboard, and cooler as a bundle for better value. The GPU you have is solid, so you might not need to replace it just yet. It’s also smart to pick a case that suits your style!
Honestly, going with AM4 or LGA1700 might save you cash on DDR5 RAM since you already have 16GB of DDR4. You should notice a decent boost with a modern CPU that has 6+ cores. As for your HDDs and SSDs, they are transferable, but ensure you handle the data transfer carefully to avoid any issues.
I appreciate the tip! If I can upgrade the processor without replacing my RAM or GPU, that would be perfect.

Thanks, I’ll definitely check that out! I've always liked supporting local shops.
