I'm building a new gaming rig for titles like CS2 and PUBG, and I'm torn between different types of RAM. If I choose G.Skill CL26 RAM and tweak the timings, how much could I expect my FPS or 1% low values to improve? Is the performance boost worth the effort, or should I just stick with G.Skill M-DIE CL30 RAM and set it to EXPO?

You really need to consider your CPU. If you're going with an X3D model, the difference from RAM timings will be minimal—almost negligible. Focus on ensuring you have the best CPU first.
If you're comparing the same clock speeds, tighter timings like moving from CL34 to CL30 might give you a performance increase of about 3-4%. Keep in mind that this range can vary depending on the game you play. If your CPU isn't top-tier, that benefit could be less noticeable—maybe around 1-2% if it's not as powerful. For example, a high-end CPU like the 9850x3d might see a better performance uptick than a slower one like the 7600x.

I'm set on using the 9850x3d. If I manage to overclock the RAM to CL26, do you think that could still yield decent results?
