I've recently purchased two different Windows laptops, and I'm having trouble with both of them connecting to the internet. I used to have a Macbook that connected perfectly fine, but both my new laptops—a Dell and an HP—initially connected without issues and then suddenly displayed an error saying, "can't connect to internet; current IP is local only." I've tried all the usual fixes, like restarting the adapter and flushing the DNS, but nothing seems to work. It's strange because everything else in my house connects without any problems, including my Android and iOS devices. I work from a home office upstairs, and I've never encountered this issue before. Any ideas on what could be causing this intermittent problem?

It sounds like you might be experiencing a weak Wi-Fi signal in your home office. Have you tried moving closer to the router? Sometimes, distance can affect the connection quality. If moving closer doesn't help, there might be something else at play.

Nope, it doesn't matter if I'm right next to the router; I still get the same error. It's odd because it worked perfectly fine for weeks.
