I need some help with a persistent issue on my laptop. Despite trying various fixes I found online, nothing seems to work. My laptop unexpectedly shuts off completely, which isn't due to the display timeout since I've set that to last 2-3 hours. The shutdowns happen randomly, either when I leave it unattended for a while or when I close the lid—which only occurs about half the time, making it quite unpredictable. When it happens, the screen turns off entirely, and I can't wake it up with the power button. I have to press and hold the power button to force a shutdown and restart it. I've already replaced the battery, thinking that was the issue, but the problem continues.

Have you tried connecting an external monitor? If the laptop screen is shutting off unexpectedly, there’s a good chance it could be a problem with the screen itself. Trying an external monitor might help confirm that.
It could potentially be overheating. If dust has built up or if this started during the hotter months, that could cause it to shut down unexpectedly. You might want to look for a temperature monitoring app to check your CPU and GPU temperatures and see if they correlate with the shutdowns.
The temps seem okay, and I clean out my laptop every couple of months, so it's pretty clean.
It sounds like overheating is the main culprit. You might want to consider reapplying thermal paste between the heatsink and CPU. Make sure to thoroughly remove the old paste first. Also, double-check the settings related to your charger and battery voltages, and don’t forget to check the CMOS battery and your BIOS settings in case there are any setup issues.

Hmm. I haven't. I'll give that a shot.
