I'm putting together a budget-friendly PC for a friend who's at university. Their budget is £500, but I'm considering chipping in a little extra. The graphics card isn't a huge concern for me since I've found some RX 6600 models on eBay at great prices. I've tried to keep costs low without compromising too much on quality, but I'm not an expert on which components work best together. I'd really appreciate any feedback or suggestions on this build!

If you're sticking closely to that budget, try checking Facebook Marketplace and CEX for used parts. You can find some solid custom PCs around £450-600. Pairing used components could really give you more bang for your buck! For example, a 3600 CPU at CEX is only around £60. If you're building from scratch, I've got a link for a good parts list too!
You might want to check out some handy resources like pcgamingwiki.com for game optimization tips and a script that helps debloat Windows. Also, guides for undervolting and overclocking could help you get more performance without extra power use. Just keep everything updated, especially your chipset drivers!
Hey! I took a look at your build and made a few tweaks. I swapped out the CPU for a 5600, updated the motherboard to one with Wi-Fi, and added a 1TB NVMe drive using some savings from downgrading the GPU. I also changed the case to a more affordable option that looks similar. Hope this helps!
Oh dang! Thanks for the suggestions, I'll check those out!

Thanks for the info! I’ll definitely consider used parts!
