I'm currently thinking about upgrading from my 5600X, but I'm hesitant to go for AM5 yet due to the high RAM prices. A brand new 5950X is selling for around 300€ while used 5700X3D or 5800X3D CPUs are priced between 450-500€. Since I primarily play games like Apex Legends, I'm curious if the 200€ price difference for the 5950X is justified by any performance gains, or if I should stick with what I have. Any advice would really help!

I couldn't justify upgrading from a 5600X to a 5700X3D when I could grab an X3D new for just 190€. I eventually built my system with a 9800X3D right before DDR5 prices went nuts. I say stick with your 5600X; those upgrade costs are just too high for what you’d gain.
You might want to consider investing in a better GPU instead, especially since you mentioned having an A770. That could be a smarter move for gaming!
I totally agree, it’s crazy to ask 450-500€ for a used CPU on a platform that’s basically outdated. Even if the 5800X3D is a solid chip, it's not worth it at that price. Plus, the 5950X isn't going to do much for your gaming needs either—those extra cores won't make a difference for your games unless you also do some heavy productivity work.
If you happen to find an X3D chip at a reasonable price, grab it! Here, the 5700/5800X3D are priced higher than even the 9800X3D, which is just wild. Otherwise, the 5600X can still hold its own well. I use mine alongside an Arc B580 and it runs everything at 1440p without a hitch! Plus, try PBO for a nice performance spike without spending more cash.
Yeah, RAM prices are through the roof right now. It’s a shame! I'm still running with 16GB in dual channel, and upgrades to 32GB are just too pricey.
Honestly, neither of those CPUs are great for gaming. The 5950X won't give you much of a boost since the extra cores don’t really help with most games. If you can find an X3D CPU at a decent price, that might be worthwhile, but generally, the improvement isn't significant enough to warrant those high prices.

Sounds great! I also have an Arc A770. The struggle is real with building PCs right now, especially with DDR4 RAM being hard to find and overpriced. It feels like investing in RAM is more lucrative than gold these days!
