What’s a Good Processor Upgrade From Ryzen 5 5600?

I'm currently using an RX 6600 GPU and planning to upgrade to an RX 9060 XT, which I'm really excited about! However, I'm a bit lost when it comes to upgrading my processor. I have a Ryzen 5 5600, and I've seen the Ryzen 7 5800XT, but Userbenchmark indicates the difference is only about 3%. I'm looking for advice on a solid upgrade—what processors would be worth considering?

I'm in the same boat with my CPU! After researching, I've decided to stick with my 5600, especially for 1440p gaming. If you're looking for an upgrade, the 5700X3D or 5800X3D would be good, but they're pretty hard to find at reasonable prices. Waiting for something on AM5 might be best!

Before making any upgrades, make sure to test your current setup first. Find out if your 5600 is actually bottlenecking your performance. If it is, then a 5800X could be a good option.

Honestly, the 5800XT doesn't offer much more for gaming, as most games won't really utilize more than six cores. Plus, switching to AM5 isn’t worth it unless you have access to special deals like those at Microcenter.

The Ryzen 5600 is still a solid match for the RX 9060 XT! Also, I'd recommend stearing clear of UserBenchmark—it's pretty misleading and not seen as reliable by many in the community.

I'd say go for the new GPU first and see if you notice any performance drops in your games based on your FPS targets. If it runs well, you might not need a CPU upgrade right away!
