I recently transferred data from my old iPhone 8 Plus to a new iPhone 15 Pro Max, and now I'm having trouble with the Microsoft Authenticator app. When I open the app, it's stuck in a loop where it keeps giving me a code but I can't use it properly since I'm already in the app. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, and I've made sure my time zones are correct. The app is locked but I can access it. I'm not looking for password help; I just want to reset the authenticator or link it to my new phone. Any suggestions?

Since you wiped your old phone, you might be in a bit of a tough spot. If you don’t have the recovery code from the 2FA setup, you'll need that to log in and disable 2FA. When you reinstalled the app on your new phone, did you select 'recover accounts'? If you tap on your account, there could be an option to sign in using your password. If it's for school, definitely reach out to your IT department as they might have the means to reset your authenticator.
If you still have your old phone available, you can boot it up and use it to authenticate the new Microsoft Authenticator app. Just connect the old phone to WiFi or create a hotspot with the new one if needed. If it’s a work or school account, your IT department might also be able to help by giving you a one-time passcode if they have that feature enabled.
