I've recently upgraded my GPU to an RTX 4070, but I'm still using my Ryzen 3600 CPU. I'm noticing a significant bottleneck in CPU-heavy games like FiveM. I've considered getting a 5800X3D, but they're hard to find and quite pricey. Would upgrading to a 5800XT be a sufficient improvement while sticking with the AM4 socket? I'd like to keep my 32GB of DDR4 RAM, so I'm looking for a solid upgrade option.

I recently got a 5700X along with a 4070 Ti for 1440p gaming. Sure, the CPU might bottleneck a bit at around 13%, but with some upscaling, I don't notice it much. You'll be just fine with the 5800XT!
I’ve made that exact upgrade with a 5700X and I’m happy with it. The performance uplift is significant, especially for multitasking. I'd say go for it and maybe wait for RAM prices to drop or AM5 to come out for future upgrades.
If you're looking to save some cash, consider the 5600 too. It should still do the job if you're on a budget.
I went with a 5600XT because it was the most affordable AM4 CPU I could find. It’s a smart choice if you're planning a bigger upgrade next year.
Upgrading to the 5800XT is definitely a solid move! You'll see a noticeable performance boost with that CPU.
Yeah, I think it's a smart upgrade. If I were in your position, I wouldn't hesitate to go for the 5800XT right now.

I use a 5800X3D with a 2080 Super. Even though my GPU holds me back a little, I'm hitting over 60fps at 1440p on high settings in every game thanks to DLSS.
