What Linux Distro Should I Use for Gaming and Daily Tasks?

I'm planning to switch from Windows 11 to Linux on my desktop, which has an AMD GPU. I do a lot of gaming—mostly single-player with some casual online like Final Fantasy XIV or World of Warcraft—while also relying heavily on web applications like WhatsApp, Shopify, Google Docs, and Office Online. Since I'm new to Linux and prefer not to fiddle with settings, I'm looking for some straightforward recommendations. I've heard about distros like Mint, Bazzite, or Cachyos, but I'd love some advice before I make a decision. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I’d personally steer clear of Debian and its derived distros for desktop use; they tend to lag behind on the latest updates.

Mint is a solid choice, real user-friendly and tailored for those transitioning from Windows.

Once you get used to switching workspaces with WIN + 1/2/3, you'll likely say goodbye to alt-tab! Just a heads up for when you dive in.

I'd recommend trying Kubuntu. I'm also new to Linux, and after starting with Mint, I switched to Kubuntu—it's been excellent for gaming without any hiccups.

You can really go with any distro and it should suit your needs just fine! Honestly, Mint, Ubuntu, and Fedora all make great starting points. You might want to try them out in a VM first to see which one feels best for you.
