Help! My Roommate’s Tablet Keeps Saying the Wrong PIN

I'm having trouble with my roommate's child's tablet. It suddenly claims the PIN is incorrect, and I can't seem to reset it. When I try to follow the factory reset instructions, I just see a picture of a 'broken Android' and there are no options to select. The tablet is an affordable Ecopad running Android. The guides suggest holding down 'power' and 'volume up' to get to the reset menu, but once I'm there, I don't see any way to navigate up or down like I was told I should.

You could try connecting the tablet to a computer. Sometimes, you can run a software tool from the computer to reset it to factory settings. Check the Ecopad website to see if they have any tools or support documents for this.

Just to clarify, the up and down navigation might refer to the volume buttons. Generally, you use the power button to select the highlighted option in the menu. But if there's nothing to scroll through and you're just seeing that dead Android image, that's a problem.

That's what the online instructions say, but I only see that picture of the 'dead' Android robot with his hatch open.

It sounds like the volume buttons are not working for navigation, which is odd. They should usually let you scroll up and down in the menu. Maybe try pressing them to see if that helps?

Correct, they don't seem to work for that.
