I recently got a new iPhone with 512 GB of storage and I was using Google Photos to manage my photos, filling up to 100 GB of storage there. Now that I have ample space on my iPhone, I'd like to transfer all my photos from Google Photos back to the iPhone's photos app. I'm currently at 97% capacity on Google Photos and want everything consolidated without paying for extra storage on Google. Any suggestions or detailed steps on how to do this? Thanks!

You've got a couple of ways to move your photos! The easiest method is to use Google Takeout. It allows you to download all your photos at once. Just select what you need and follow the instructions to get them on your computer, then you can upload them to your iPhone through traditional transfer methods like iTunes or Finder.
Alternatively, you can open the Google Photos app on your iPhone, select multiple photos and tap 'Save to device'. This can be a bit tricky if you have a lot of photos, but it should work to move hundreds at once.
If the Google Takeout method seems overwhelming, don't worry! I suggest going with the 'Save to device' option in the Google Photos app. Just be mindful that it might take some time if you have many photos. Just select a bunch and it should save them directly to your iPhone. It’s a nice way to keep it simple.
