I'm really interested in learning to code and am curious if I can build a career as a self-taught programmer. As a single parent to three kids, I want to make the right choices for my future, and I'm wondering if it's too late for me at 29. I'd also appreciate any beginner tips or resources you could recommend!

You can definitely do it, but it might be challenging. The job market now is a bit tricky, with a lot of entry-level positions being hard to come by. Networking is essential, so consider freelancing to build your portfolio. At least a few years ago, it was easier to break in as a self-taught developer, but it’s still doable if you're persistent.

29 with three kids? That's already awesome self-awareness! Self-taught developers get hired all the time; focus on building a portfolio instead of a degree. Choose a language like Python or JavaScript, stick with it, and begin creating small projects as you go!

Absolutely, it's totally possible! I learned programming mostly on my own, and now I'm working as a full-stack web developer. It really comes down to your commitment and passion for learning!

You're not too late at all! I started a complete career change at 30. Many tech jobs hire self-taught developers as long as you have a solid portfolio to show off what you can do. FreeCodeCamp and The Odin Project are great starting points, but remember, it's crucial to work on real projects.

Honestly, now might be a tough time for newcomers since many places prefer experience. A few years ago, I'd have been all for diving in, but it feels riskier now. Still, if you have the drive, go for it!
