Help! My New PC Keeps Shutting Down Randomly

I just received my new HP OmniDesk Desktop (with an AMD Ryzen 5 8500G, 16GB DDR5, 512GB PCIe SSD, AMD Radeon 740M, and Windows 11 Pro) for work. After setting it up, it suddenly shut off and restarted while I was answering the initial setup questions. I shrugged it off, but then it happened again while syncing my browser and has continued to shut down at random intervals—usually every 8, 11, or 28 minutes. I tried running diagnostics, but it even shut off during those tests. I'm planning to follow some basic troubleshooting steps from the internet, but I'd really appreciate any other advice you might have. I'd prefer not to return it this early if I can avoid it. Thanks in advance for your help!

There are known issues with Windows 11 that might be causing this problem. A lot of users report similar shutdown issues. Check the Microsoft website for some suggested fixes; they might help you out!

Thanks for the heads-up! I’ll look into that tomorrow.

I’ve been using Windows 11 Pro and haven’t had any issues. It’s not inherently buggy like some say.

You should definitely contact the vendor as soon as possible. Given that it's brand new, this isn't normal behavior, and they should assist you quickly. Don't waste time troubleshooting if it's under warranty. Just get in touch with them!

100% agree! It's better to let them handle it since you have a warranty. No need to dismantle anything yourself.

Right on! I’ll do that first thing tomorrow, thanks!

Try opening the case and checking if everything inside is properly connected. Sometimes, components can come loose during shipping, which can lead to shutdowns. If that doesn't help, returning it may be your best bet.

That’s a good idea! I’ll grab some tools and check it out. Thanks for the advice!

Make sure to submit a warranty request. Avoid taking apart the system or following random suggestions here, as it could void your warranty. Your best bet is to let the company take care of it for you.

Got it! I emailed support earlier and they mentioned they’d send a label for sending it back. I think I'll take them up on that, thanks!
