Is Magento 2 Still Worth It for My Small Business?

I'm debating whether to stick with Magento 2 for my small business, especially since I'm looking to grow in the future. The learning curve has been pretty steep for me, and I've found myself constantly purchasing extensions that can be quite pricey. Additionally, I've run into issues, like getting a 500 error, which forced me to revert to an earlier backup. Given all this, should I consider hiring a Magento 2 developer, and what should I expect to pay? Or would it be better for me to switch to another platform?

Consider switching to WooCommerce, but keep those plugins to a minimum! It’s generally more user-friendly and doesn’t have the same level of complexity as Magento.

I've worked with Magento 2, and honestly, it's quite outdated and clunky. While it has a lot of features, the learning curve can be brutal, especially for small businesses. You might want to explore alternatives like Shopify, which, although more costly for customization, can save you a lot of headache. CraftCMS with Craft Commerce is another option I tried—it's around $1500 for the license, but can end up being cheaper in the long run. Look into solutions that fit your needs without requiring heavy modifications.

If you’re looking for e-commerce, I’d recommend WordPress with WooCommerce. It has great free features, but make sure to go for a self-hosted option instead of buying directly from WordPress.org. Just make sure you keep track of the functionalities you need, especially if you want to bundle products with different options.

The main feature I’m missing is the ability to bundle products with different options, so I need to ensure that’s covered!

Just thinking about Magento 2 triggers my anxiety! It's quite a beast to deal with.
