Hey all, my PC suddenly crashed and now I'm getting a message saying 'back up your files, failure may be imminent,' pointing to my NVMe SSD, which is fairly new. It's forcing me into the BIOS each time I boot up. I've tried following some older posts and a YouTube video to override it and turning off the SMART check in the advanced storage settings allowed me to pass BIOS, but then it just leads me to a Windows installation setup. Is this normal behavior for Windows troubleshooting, or could the small 8GB partition I created during the original installation be causing issues? I'm also concerned if there's something wrong with the hardware. Any advice would be appreciated! My setup includes a Strix Z690-A motherboard, a 980 Pro SSD, and I'm running Windows 11.

You should definitely try to retrieve any dump files if your PC allows you to boot into Windows or Safe Mode. Just check the C:WindowsMinidump folder for crash logs. Once you find them, zip the folder and upload it to a file-sharing site. Having these files can really help in diagnosing what's going on. If you're missing files, check this guide on setting up small memory dumps to get more info.
It sounds like your SSD might be failing, especially since it's new. I recommend getting it RMA'd or returned while you can. However, a past error related to firmware could be at play here. Maybe there’s a way to check which one it is?
Before you dive in, make sure you've got backups of your data. Changing BIOS settings or messing with disk configurations can sometimes lead to data loss. Just a heads-up!

Yeah, I remember reading about that firmware issue too. Any tips on how to rule out a firmware problem versus hardware failure?
