Last Minute Tips for My PC Build Tomorrow

I'm about to purchase my PC build tomorrow, and I need some final advice on a few components. Specifically, I'm concerned about whether my CPU cooler will cool effectively (noise isn't an issue for me). I'm also looking for suggestions on adding extra storage—I'm thinking a cheap HDD would be ideal if it fits in my case, but I'm not sure what would be compatible. Lastly, I'd like feedback on the case and whether there's anything else that might hold this build back. Here's what I've picked out so far:

* CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D 4.7 GHz 8-Core Processor — $419.95
* CPU Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE 66.17 CFM CPU Cooler — $34.90
* Motherboard: MSI MAG B850 TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI ATX AM5 Motherboard — $209.99
* Memory: TEAMGROUP T-Create Expert 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 Memory — $439.99
* Storage: Western Digital WD_Black SN850X 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive — $344.95
* Video Card: MSI SHADOW 3X OC GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16 GB Video Card — $949.99
* Case: Fractal Design Meshify 3 ATX Mid Tower Case — $154.99
* Power Supply: Corsair RM850e (2025) 850 W Fully Modular ATX Power Supply — $119.99

Total: $2674.75

Your cooler should handle the Ryzen 7 9800X3D just fine. The whole build looks solid, although you might wanna double-check on storage compatibility to ensure a cheap HDD fits your case.
Just make sure to keep airflow in mind if you add more drives!

Hey, just a heads up, you might be overpaying for the RAM and power supply. You could save some cash and get similar performance by opting for CL48 RAM or a less expensive power supply. No noticeable difference in the gaming performance either way!

Thanks for the tip! I'll check out options for cheaper RAM.

That cooler is more than adequate for what you need. As for the motherboard, the B850 is fine, but you could save some money with an alternate. And regarding the case, it’s a personal choice—just remember if you care more about aesthetics or functionality!

Yeah, I chose it mainly for aesthetics. I hope it performs well!

If you're going to a Micro Center or something like that, you could snag a decent bundle deal to save a bit. The 5070 Ti is overpriced for what it offers. Consider looking into other options that give better performance for the price.
