I'm getting my new ASUS ROG RTX 5090 graphics card, and my power supply arrives tomorrow—it's a Seasonic ATX 3.1 PRIME TX 1300W. I've read different opinions on how to connect everything. I thought it would be best to use the single 12V-2x6 12VHPWR connector, with one side connected to the GPU for safety. But is it better to use a 16-pin from the GPU to either 3x8 or 4x8 connections on the power supply for a safer setup? What do you think?

The safest approach is to minimize the number of connections. Each additional connection is a possible failure point. If you use an adaptor, you increase the risk of mistakes or defects. Stick to the least number of connections possible!
I personally would go with the native cable. While it may not matter much, there's a lower risk with fewer connections, and you won't need adaptors either. Just a more reliable setup, in my opinion.
The 12v-2x6 cable that comes with your PSU is actually the best option. It's designed for that specific setup and should work perfectly with your GPU.
Totally agree with you on that one.
Just to clarify, you mean the cable that comes from the PSU, right? I heard from Seasonic support that using CableMod won't void your warranty, but recommendations do differ on setups.

Wouldn't using 3 or 4 8-pin connections be even better? Not trying to argue, just curious!
