I'm looking to upgrade my GPU from an NVIDIA 1060 6GB, which I've been using since I built my PC in 2021. While I'm not after the latest and greatest, I need something that can handle most recent single-player games without requiring additional upgrades to my setup. I mainly play casually with friends online and sometimes on console, but I want my PC to perform better for new single-player titles. Here's my current spec:
- CPU: Intel i7-10700K
- Motherboard: ASUS TUF Z490-PLUS (Wi-Fi)
- RAM: 16GB DDR4 2400MHz
- GPU: GTX 1060 6GB
- PSU: Corsair TX650M 650W (Gold)
- Case: NZXT H511
I'd prefer to stick with NVIDIA since I have a G-Sync monitor. I'm looking for the best GPU that fits my specs and needs, with a budget around €800 / $950. Also, my gaming resolution is 1440p.

You might want to check out used NVIDIA 30 series cards like the 3070 or 3080. I've seen 3070s going for a little over $200 USD and 3080s under $350, sometimes even down to $250. Both of these options would be a huge upgrade and should work well with your current setup. Just keep in mind that a used card might be the way to go to stay within budget. If you're open to alternatives, the RX 6800XT is another solid choice, but the 3080 generally outperforms it in many scenarios.
What resolution are you planning to game at?
A great option would be the RTX 5060 Ti with 16 GB of memory. However, keep in mind that your CPU might hold back some performance, so consider updating that in the future too. If you're planning a more significant upgrade, looking at an AMD socket AM5 setup with a Ryzen 7 7700 could be a good route.
Thanks for the feedback! I did add details about my resolution and budget—they're 1440p and around €800 / $950, respectively.

I'm gaming at 1440p!
