I have an i5-9600KF with an RTX 3080 and 16GB of DDR4 3000MHz RAM that I bought as part of a used PC setup last year for $500. The only change I've made is upgrading the GPU from a 5700XT. I realize that the i5-9600KF is getting older and doesn't keep up with newer standards, especially since it only has 6 threads and uses PCIe Gen 3. With 2026 on the horizon, I know that a Ryzen 5000 series or Intel 12000 series would be preferred for a new build. However, since I got this PC at a bargain, I'm wondering if I should stick with my current CPU for now or if upgrading to an AM4 setup makes sense, considering the high RAM prices right now. Will sticking with the i5-9600KF impact my gaming performance, especially in demanding titles?

I have a 9700k with a 4070 Super, and I handle AAA games at high settings just fine! But yeah, higher resolutions or intensive games might show some bottlenecking with older CPUs like the 9th gen.
