My HP 255 G7 is Acting Up—Battery Issues and Diagnosis Loop

I've been facing some major issues with my HP 255 G7 laptop. A couple of days ago, it displayed a message indicating that my battery might be damaged. Since then, it won't stay powered on unless it's plugged in, even when the battery is fully charged. After shutting down, it started showing a screen that says it's 'diagnosing my PC.' I've seen this message three times now, each time with a 30-minute countdown stating 'we couldn't repair your device automatically at this time.' I can access three options when I press Enter: 'quick machine recovery' (which seems to be running now), 'troubleshoot' (which I'm unsure about), and 'turn off your PC.' I'm worried about my data and am trying to figure out if the battery is the main problem here. What should I do?

It sounds like the battery issue might be causing your laptop to shut down unexpectedly, which could be corrupting Windows. When power is interrupted, especially in critical processes, it can lead to problems like this. I suggest going into Troubleshoot > Advanced > Startup Options and trying to boot into Safe Mode first. This should allow you to access your desktop. Once you're in, prioritize backing up your important data if you haven't done so already. If everything works fine in Safe Mode, try rebooting normally. If it doesn't load up, you might need to consider a USB reinstall of Windows. Also, don’t forget to look for a replacement battery.

Appreciate the advice! Quick question: do you think using Hiren's Boot CD would help if I can't get into my desktop? Just looking for ways to save my data since this laptop's been having issues, and I've heard others have had theirs fail too.
