I'm considering whether to upgrade my current GPU from an RTX 4070 to an RX 9070XT. My setup includes a QHD 165Hz display, a TUF GAMING X670E-PLUS motherboard, a Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU, 32GB of DDR5 RAM running at 6000MHz, and a Corsair 750W 80PLUS Bronze power supply. I've heard that the RX 9070XT pairs well with my CPU and that it has better support for Linux, which is a plus for me. Do you think this upgrade is worth it?

It really depends on your budget! I think the RX 9070XT is a great choice for future-proofing and gaming performance. I’d suggest you sell your 4070 first to help with that upgrade.

Yeah, I've got a friend who wants to buy my 4070 already. Thanks for the advice!

If you're looking to play games on ultra settings at 2K, then yes! Have you also looked into using super resolution and game optimization to make the most out of what you have?

Every GPU will pair nicely with your CPU since it's one of the best out there right now. Just check if you rely on any Nvidia-specific features like VSR or Reflex. If you're switching, you could see around a 35% performance increase, which is quite considerable!

Sure, why not go for it? The RX 9070XT can give you a nice performance bump, especially with 16GB of VRAM, which is perfect for 1440p gaming. Plus, with your CPU, they’ll work great together. Just remember, your 4070 is still pretty solid, so it's more of a nice-to-have upgrade than a must-do.
