I'm building a new PC after my old GPU fried, and I'm curious about the storage. I have an M.2 drive (not sure which brand) and a Seagate hard drive in my old PC. Given the current prices for new storage, I'm wondering if I can reuse my old M.2 without running into issues. I've seen videos suggesting that using a flash drive to install Windows might prompt me to delete any data on the M.2. Is that a safe approach, or should I just invest in new storage and follow the standard installation process? Thanks in advance!

Before you shut down your old PC, make a disk image of your current drive. If necessary, unencrypt it first. Make sure to note down your Windows and Office keys. I've had success just plugging my old SSD into the new build and often it boots up fine. You might need to load some new drivers afterward, but that can save you a lot of time! Just keep your backup drive disconnected until you're ready to use it. And if you've got an OEM version of Windows, it might eventually request a new key.
Absolutely, you can definitely reformat and reuse your old M.2 drive. They're designed for that kind of use! Just make sure it’s still in good condition before you proceed.
As long as your M.2 isn't damaged, you can install a fresh Windows copy on it using a bootable drive. Just remember, during the installation, it will ask you to format the drive. So, be prepared for that!
