Which Python Book Should I Choose: Mark Lutz or Eric Matthes?

Hey everyone! I'm trying to find a good book for learning Python and stumbled upon two names: Mark Lutz and Eric Matthes. I found that Eric Matthes wrote "Python Crash Course," but I've also come across someone named Mark Lutz who has his own work. Can anyone clarify if these are two different authors? If so, is one of them considered more reputable or better for beginners? I'd really appreciate any recommendations. Thanks in advance!

I think Google might be confused too. It's a common tactic for some to slightly alter popular names for SEO to boost their Kindle book visibility. So yes, you might see authors mixed up here and there. It's kind of a sneaky move, but not illegal, just a bit scummy.

Just changed my name to James Stephen King Patterson, lol.

Just to clarify, Eric Matthes wrote Python Crash Course and Mark Lutz is known for Learning Python. It sounds like the names got jumbled here. If you're just starting out, I'd recommend going with Matthes' book; it's much more hands-on with projects. Lutz's book is more of a reference and can be pretty dense for beginners.

Hey, I'm Eric Matthes, the author of Python Crash Course. Just a heads up, there's been a mix-up on platforms like Amazon for ages. People tend to misrepresent books, making it tough for learners to find legit resources. It's definitely frustrating. Just be careful with what you purchase!
