I'm currently using a Ryzen 5 5600X with an RX 6800 on a B550 motherboard, and I game at 1440p on a 165Hz monitor. My current go-to games include Ghost of Tsushima, League of Legends, Hogwarts Legacy, Cyberpunk, and Red Dead Redemption 2. I'm considering upgrading to an RX 9070 XT and I'm wondering if it's worth it to also upgrade my CPU. I've looked into a few options: the Ryzen 5700X3D for AUD 640, the Ryzen 5800X3D for AUD 750, the Ryzen 5700X for AUD 330, and I could also consider an AM5 upgrade with a new motherboard and CPU combo for better future-proofing. I'd love to get your thoughts and opinions on this!

I say keep your 5600X for now. While an upgrade to the X3D chips would be nice, the prices are pretty steep. The 5700X won't give you a significant boost either. Just watch out for CPU-heavy settings in games like Cyberpunk 2077. The 5600X is still doing great overall, plus you might find some games easier to play with the settings adjusted a bit.
I run a 9070 XT with a 5600X and get over 120 FPS on RDR2 at 1440p without any issues. Your current GPU should handle most games well enough, so I think the 5600X will serve you fine for now.
Bottlenecks are often overstated. Every PC has some bottleneck; what you should care about is your gaming experience, not just the frame count. If you're intent on upgrading, go for the 5700X. Just remember that while the X3D might improve your low FPS rates, it won’t double your performance for the cost.
Honestly, upgrading isn’t worth it right now considering the prices of those CPUs. Maybe you could grab a cheaper 5800X if you can find one for around $200, but starting to save for a full rebuild on AM5 might be better in the long run since you're not missing too much performance as is.
I think you should consider the future. If you’re planning on upgrading, going for an AM5 CPU will offer you a much better path for future upgrades. At 1440p, your bottleneck is likely minimal, but if you optimize your settings right, you could reach that 165 FPS mark if needed.
