I'm in a bit of a pickle. My grandmother's Windows 10 laptop has completely crashed, and the only way to fix it seems to be reinstalling or replacing Windows. Unfortunately, the system won't let us do that, which leaves us looking for alternatives. Can anyone recommend any Linux distributions that are extremely user-friendly and suitable for someone like my grandma who just uses her laptop for basic internet browsing?

Ubuntu is another great option. It’s user-friendly and widely supported, so you can find plenty of help online if needed.
Mint seems to be the crowd favorite! It's definitely worth giving it a shot, especially since it’s straightforward to navigate compared to other distros. Just be sure to back up any important files before making changes to the system!
I’d say stick with Linux Mint. It's super easy to set up and maintain. My mom, who is almost 70, manages it just fine and uses it daily despite having some trouble with tech in general.
There’s also Debian, but I’ve heard Mint is the way to go for someone who just wants a simple experience without the technical headaches.
I’d definitely recommend Linux Mint. It’s very intuitive and has a user interface that’s quite similar to Windows, which makes it easy for someone who isn’t tech-savvy. My elderly friend has been using it for over six years without much hassle—just the occasional upgrade!

That’s awesome to hear! I think Mint would really help her get comfortable without feeling overwhelmed.
