I'm having some serious glitches on my Windows 11 PC and I suspect that I might have malware. It all started while I was restarting my computer for an update. I deleted some unused apps and checked the Task Manager for any suspicious tasks. However, I found an application called "t" that never showed up in the Task Manager, and it prevented me from restarting the PC. After waiting on the update screen for ten minutes, I decided to turn it off. Has anyone experienced something similar or have tips on how to deal with this?

If you're really concerned about malware, consider scanning your files with an offline antivirus. That way, the existing system files won't interfere. You can create a bootable USB drive with an antivirus rescue disk. Download one like Kaspersky Rescue Disk, use a tool like Rufus to set it up, and then boot from it to scan your system without loading Windows. This can help catch stubborn malware that won't show up otherwise.
First thing you should do is run the built-in Windows antivirus to see if it detects anything. You might also want to try the free version of Malwarebytes. It's worth checking those to see if they pick anything up!
I actually have a similar "t" process on my work PC. It slows down restarts a lot, and I've seen it on multiple machines. No one seems to know what it is, and while I wonder if it’s related to drivers, I can’t confirm that. If I come across anything during my investigation, I'll let you know!
