Help! My 4th Monitor Suddenly Stopped Working

Hey folks! I need some help with my fourth monitor. Up until recently, everything was running smoothly, but now it won't display anything. I've dealt with issues in the past; the first time, I just had to enable it in the Nvidia control panel, and the second time, a simple restart fixed it after switching desks. However, this time it's different—everything was fine yesterday, and after stepping away to run errands, I've come back to find no display on my fourth monitor. Here's what I've tried so far to troubleshoot:

1. Checked to see if it was a monitor issue by disabling one of the working monitors. The fourth one powered back up.
2. Dropped all refresh rates to 60Hz in an attempt to get all four monitors working together. No luck.
3. Checked the Nvidia control panel again—it's only letting me enable three monitors.
4. Tried extending displays in Windows settings. Still nothing.
5. Restarted multiple times, but that didn't help.
6. Adjusted refresh rates in the monitor settings without any change.
7. Enabled the iGPU in BIOS, but the monitor connected to the motherboard still didn't show any display.
8. Made sure auto driver updates are disabled in the Nvidia app.

My GPU is an RTX 4090. I don't suspect bandwidth limitations since I've had this setup working fine for over a year. My main display is 4K at 120Hz, and the other three are set to 1080p at 60Hz. I'm not sure what else to try, so any suggestions would really help. Thanks a lot!

Have you tried switching out the cable for the fourth monitor? Sometimes they just give out, and it can be a simple fix!

I don't think the cable is the issue since the fourth monitor works if I disable another one. Plus, it's a fairly new monitor, so I wouldn’t expect the cable to be bad just yet. Still, thanks for the suggestion—I’ll give it a shot!

What version of your drivers are you using? You might consider rolling back to a previous version. Also, using Nvidia Inspector might help with multi-monitor compatibility. If all else fails, a clean uninstall in safe mode, followed by installing the latest drivers with minimal software, could do the trick!

I'm currently on driver version 591.86 from January. Rolling back might not help since I've been on this version for months. I’ll look into your cleanup tips—thanks for the help!
