What Are My Chances of Getting a Refund for a Forgotten Subscription?

I accidentally missed a free trial deadline for a subscription that costs around $200 annually. I know it was my mistake, and I'm feeling pretty silly about it. I canceled the subscription right after realizing it, and I only opened the app briefly before deleting it. I requested a refund about 30 minutes after I noticed the charge on my bank account. How likely is it that I can get a refund? I indicated that I didn't intend to renew the subscription. Any insights would be appreciated!

Getting a refund in this situation might be a bit tricky. Typically, these things can be hit or miss, but since it’s your first refund request and you canceled right away, there's a decent chance you might get lucky. Just keep in mind that they might not approve it since you opened the app, even if it was for just a moment.

Hey! It's possible to get a refund. Just remember, most companies are usually more lenient the first time someone asks for a refund, especially if you canceled quickly and haven't really used the service. So fingers crossed for you!

As a former Apple support advisor, I can say you generally have a good shot at a refund, especially since you haven't requested one before. They typically show some leniency in these cases. However, it’s worth noting that they usually do send out email reminders about billing, so it’s surprising you didn’t get one. Just explain your situation clearly and hope for the best!

Honestly, it sounds like a 50/50 shot. It may depend on how strict their refund policy is and whether they see that you opened the app. But many people have been granted refunds on their first request, so you do have a chance!
