How Can I Lower My CPU Temperature?

I'm concerned about my CPU temperature. I have a 13900KF, and it's running at 86 degrees Celsius while only at 16% usage. I've got a triple fan water cooler installed and recently applied new nanodiamond thermal paste, but the temperatures are still high. I know the 13900 series runs hot, yet this seems excessive for such low usage. My GPU, a 9070 XT, is only at 54 degrees, so airflow shouldn't be the issue. What additional steps can I take to bring down my CPU temperature? Also, the water cooler fans are running at 1800 RPM and the pump is around 1400 RPM, but it's showing the pump as a fan in the BIOS, so I'm unsure which is which.

Upgrading to better heat sinks with direct airflow can make a big difference in cooling efficiency.

That temperature at such low usage is definitely not normal for a 13900KF. You might want to check if the cooler is properly seated or if the pump is functioning as it should. Sometimes it could be something as simple as a protective film still being on the cooler block. Make sure to check if you can feel any vibration from the pump and check its RPM in the BIOS. If everything looks good, re-mounting the cooler with fresh thermal paste can help.

Exactly! My 13700K runs around 80°C under stress testing, so for a 13900KF, I’d expect it to handle more heat. Ideally, your CPU should be more efficient, especially at idle.

I see weird temperatures like that often. It could be a mounting issue or a pump failure. If you haven't already, try removing and reinstalling your cooler. Also, undervolting could help out on reducing the temps as well.

You might also think about underclocking or undervolting your CPU. With the 13th gen running hot, even at 86 degrees while idling may just be within its comfort zone, but giving it some breathing room can help extend its lifespan.

Consider improving your fan setup for better case airflow. Adjusting the CPU fan curve in the BIOS for more efficient cooling might significantly help decrease temps. That's a solid starting point! Good luck!
